Positive: The host is a lovely and helpful woman who immediately pointed out many great things to do, such as restaurants and services. Every detail of the apartment is thoughtful and beautiful. We felt very comfortable in Casa Merlon and in the city.

Negative: It's a shame how many run-down houses there are in the city and how much graffiti there is. Nevertheless, we felt safe in the surroundings and the owner of Casa Merlo has set a good example of what can be done with these old houses.

Summary: A wonderful and beautiful apartment that I can 100% recommend.

Positive: Wow, such an amazing experience! From the moment we booked, Rita (the hostess) was in touch with us. Her communication right up to our arrival was right on point. She even booked our airport transfers for us, and nothing was too much trouble. Rita meet us at the property bang on the agreed time. When she opened the door, we were pleasantly surprised at how clean, bright, fresh, and airy the apartment is. It honestly felt like we were the first people to ever stay there. On top of that, Rita goes out of her way to make sure every little detail is taken care of. Her love and pride in the property is evident the moment she starts talking you through the property, and is genuinely reflected in the property. You enter into the hallway, the spacious bedroom is of to the left, and has it’s own air conditioning unit. Next is the spacious and modern bathroom. Once again very bright and clean. You then walking into an open plan lounge and kitchen. The sofa turns into a double bed, which was large and comfortable enough for my son to enjoy, and he is 6’2”. This area also has a powerful air conditioner. The kitchen is well laid out, and had all of the utensils needed. The glass rear door opens out in to a small court yard, with an outdoor shower that works brilliantly You then walk up some stairs to a patio/sun deck area with sitting. It’s a great place to chill, and got a lot of use from us. There is also a laundry up there, with a brand new washing machine. It is ideally situated for easy access to the many bars and restaurants, and is a 10 minute walk from the marina. As a local, Rita is the perfect person to give you tips and advice, and even supplies a map where she’s marked out her top 10 tips to visit. Everything in the apartment is new and fresh, and we really enjoyed our 4 days there, and Rita takes it to another level and I honestly fail to see how anybody could be disappointed!

Positive: The blackbird casa made our stay in Faro incredibly nice. Lovely and helpful host who welcomed us with nice vine and nata. Rita was helpful with many thing, and gave good tips to restaurants and places to go. The frigde was ful of what ever you needed to drink. The casa was extreamly clean, the bed was very comfortable and the shower outside was super nice. We used the mini terrace quite much. All thing in the casa is just spot on. We will be back one day Rita !!

Positive: I cannot possibly stress enough the warm welcome and permanent availability of Rita, the owner, to make our stay perfect. The place is an intimate, cosy little house with all the amenities you may need and then some extra. It was spotless clean. The matress and the pillows are very comfortable. Rita welcomed us with a platter of fruit and Pastel de Nata. In the minibar there was water, beer, and even Portuguese bio wine among other... and the prices are very decent. We would definitely love to come back here. A big thank you, Rita, for everything!

Positive: The space is beautiful, immaculately clean and tastefully decorated. The decor and finishing are lovely. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was luxurious. Aircon, like everythijg else, looked brand new and was very effective. Though we didn't have time to use it, the mini terrace with various plants and outdoor shower looked great. We appreciated some of the little touches like games, earplugs, mixed recycling, guidebooks etc and it's moments walk from the town's main spots. Couldn't recommend highly enough.

Positive: A truly perfect place to stay in Faro. Casa Melro (Blackbird house) is so thoughtfully put together. Fantastic shower indoor and outdoor! super comfortable bed, extremely clean and everything is just spot on. Its in the perfect location just on the edge of the very centre of Faro, So easy and convenient for everything you would want to do with the bonus of being on a quieter street just a hop and a skip to every convenience. A real bolthole and we wouldn't hesitate to book again. And the lovely host Rita who is friendly and super helpful.
